FLASH XC40P Slow Lure 8 - a nice surprise

Everything started from me organizing the display of the equipment, which I prepared in agreement with Waldek Ptak, and after finding that in the place where I live such things never happen, and as I know there are lots of people who are interested in such presentation.
Waldek, who knows my preferences when it comes to fishing for chub and generally speaking light equipment, gave me this rod for testing. First contact, which wasn’t by the water, gave me a lot to think about, because new series offers a lot of surprises. And as I said before, it gave a lot to think about for me as a conservative guy when it comes to equipment. The length of 2.90 m made me thinking, because when using such types of rods I reduced the length to 2.40m, but… this t.w. 0.5 - 8 g it’s just right for me. But more on that later.
I had had at my disposal several dozen of Dragon’s rods for few days before the show so I could play with the new ones, without any stress, I could use some reels to check deflection of the rod with line. Such test is really important for me, because wagging “ on dry “ may not give you the feeling of that what we are looking for when choosing a rod.
Waldemar offered fishing together in Wisłok and Wisłoka rivers, and I agreed happily, because I love those rivers. First castings with new rod (with small wobler) gave me the foretaste of possibilities of this rod. Changing the lures to spinners and soft lures in current showed quite quickly what this rod can do.
The lures which I used the most were of 4 - 5g. Seemingly quite soft rod has a good reserve of power and when I caught I knew that it would be my rod for spring - summer chub. Delicate takes you can feel quite clearly and the action of the rod makes that the fight with the fish is on the blank and the mill, sets quite slightly, was not felt a single time.
I used Momoi Premium lines, diameter 0.165 and 0.185 and Nano Clear 0.06 mm braid on the reels Team Dragon FD 1025iZ. The length of the rod can be a slight problem in bushy banks but in open space or during floundering gives lots of opportunities to play with small lures using different techniques of leading the lures.
Although mid of February is not good for hunting for predators by floating crankbaits, I still wanted to check how it would look like on the rivers, which as I think in few months will be full of life from one bank to the other. I borrowed from Waldek Salmo Lil “ Bug “ rod and I played a little bit with leading the rod and it turned out that this rod is very good when it comes to the parts characteristic for chub in typical spring - summer places of Podkarpacie like stone reefs, sunken trunks, boulders or clumps of water moss, grass which grows on the river bank or branches of trees. After two days of fishing with Waldemar and two times when I went fishing in my place I can highly recommend this rod, not only to the fans of fishing for chub or ide but also to those who like fishing lightly - bream also likes small lures and it is nice to fish for it with spinning rod.
